About me

Mr Nnamdi Nwaejike has a medical degree from Queen’s University Belfast and an MD from Queen Mary’s, University of London.

Upon completing basic surgical training in Northern Ireland, he was appointed National Cardiothoracic Trainee in the Northwest of England, including rotations in Plymouth, Bristol and Papworth Hospitals.

Mr Nwaejike graduated from the accredited Advanced Cardiothoracic Fellowship Programme at Duke University Hospital, NC, USA.

Upon completing training, he was appointed Consultant Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Transplant surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.

Mr Nwaejike has published research papers, presented his work at national and international conferences.

Areas of interest

Mr Nnamdi Nwaejike’s clinical interests include all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.

Off-pump/beating-heart coronary revascularization (CABG)
Total arterial revascularisation
Mitral valve repair
Surgery for Atrial Fibrillation

Mr Nwaejike is the Trust Specialty Training Lead in cardiac surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital, MFT.

Mr Nwaejike sits on the Northwest Cardiothoracic Surgery Training Committee.
