About me

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 22 years of clinical experience. I am a friendly, down to earth and compassionate therapist currently offering private clinical psychology sessions within the Bearsden area of North Glasgow. My therapy room is in a newly renovated and freshly decorated wellbeing centre called 'The Wellbeing Rooms' in Kirk Road, G61 3RG.

I graduated with a first class BSc Honours degree in Psychology from The University of Glasgow in 1997. I then completed a 3 year postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, graduating from The University of Glasgow in 2001. I am a member of the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC number PYL24099) and I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society.

I have worked in the NHS as a qualified clinical psychologist since 2001, within various adult mental health teams and services. I have a wide range of experience and have worked across the spectrum of mental health presentations of differing levels of severity, from mild / moderate to severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

I worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist from 2010 within a specialist NHS Psychological Trauma Service, delivering evidence based psychological interventions for trauma.

Areas of interest

I have lengthy experience of working with various presentations including:
anxiety; depression / low mood; trauma presentations; eating disorders; adjustment disorders; relationship difficulties; bereavement / grief; addictions. This list is not exhaustive so please contact me if there is something that you think I can help you with.

I am trained in a wide range of evidence based psychological interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), schema focused therapy, phase based interventions for complex trauma, solution focused therapy and compassion focused therapy (CFT). I normally work integratively, meaning that I combine several therapeutic approaches in order to provide specific, individually tailored psychological interventions with the aim of helping you improve more quickly and effectively.

I see adults age 18 and over within my practice.
