About me

Bal (Baljinder) Dhinsa is a fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions.

Having qualified as an undergraduate from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ medical school, Bal Dhinsa worked as a Research Fellow at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore before completing Higher surgical training on the Southeast Thames rotation. During his training, he held the role of Academy doctor at Charlton Athletic football club, which provided him with the experience of managing elite sports people. To further his foot and ankle training and to learn the latest advances in techniques, he completed British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery (BOFAS) approved fellowships at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital and Malawi. Bal has also taken the opportunity to take part in a visiting fellowship under the auspices of Professor Hintermann in Basel.

Bal believes in an evidence-based approach to patient care, and has maintained a keen interest in research. He has presented at prestigious international and national meetings, as well as having over 40 peer reviewed publication. He has had the privilege of being asked to author several book chapters. Teaching and training the new generation of healthcare professionals is an important aspect of Bal’s life; he enjoys teaching undergraduates, supervising trainees and being on the faculty of numerous courses.

He is pathway lead and Professor of Regenerative Orthopaedics.
