About me

Mr Douglas Robinson is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery and a specialist interest in upper limb surgery. He qualified from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in 2001 and completed both his basic and higher surgical training on the East of Scotland (Tayside) rotation. He went on to undertake specialist upper limb fellowship training at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, further developing his expertise in upper limb surgery.
Since his appointment as a Consultant in 2011, Mr Robinson has provided a patient-centred, outcome-driven service, with a focus on delivering the highest standards of care tailored to each individual's needs and expectations.
An enthusiastic and highly regarded trainer, he was awarded the Scottish Orthopaedic Trainer of the Year Award in 2019 for his outstanding contribution to surgical education.
Mr Robinson currently serves as the Clinical Director of the NHS Tayside Department of Trauma and Orthopaedic, where he continues to promote clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-focused care.
