About me
Luke read medicine in London, and completed Basic Surgical Training in London and Surrey. He moved to Oxford in 2008 for Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
Between 2010 and 2013 Luke undertook a PhD at Oxford University focusing on the development of arthritis, the role of the meniscus in the development of arthritis, and the optimal timing of joint replacement.
He was entered onto the Specialist Register in 2016 and then completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination. This was followed by the first of his two Fellowships. He spent a year working on the Adult Joint Reconstruction service at Stanford University Hospitals, Stanford University, California, USA. He then returned to the UK to complete further Fellowship training on the Sports Knee Service at Oxford University Hospitals.
Luke was appointed as Consultant Knee Surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in February 2018.
He quickly developed a busy practice, focusing on sports knee injuries and joint replacement.
He is a key opinion leader in London on partial knee replacement, minimally invasive knee replacement, and daycase knee replacement. His unit has recently been designated a visitation centre of excellence for Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Luke's sports knee injury practice benefits from his experience managing many high level athletes and dancers with a focus on return to elite level function.
He delivers a bespoke, patient centred private service as part of Grosvenor Othopaedic Partners.
In 2021 Luke was delighted to be invited to practice at the world famous King Edward VII Hospital, meaning his private practice is now between The Lister Hospital, Chelsea, and the Harley Street Medical District.
Away from medicine, he is a sports enthusiast. Luke won a Rugby Blue whilst at Oxford.
