About me
I am an Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon and I was appointed Consultant at University College London Hospitals and Whittington Health in 2018. I obtained my Medical Degree from Athens University, where I also read for a PhD in Breast Cancer. I am Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Fellow of the European Board of Breast Surgery, where I standard-set in the capacity of Examiner as of 2017.
I completed my higher surgical training in Greece and Belgium and was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training in Surgery with Honours by the Athens Prefecture. I then went on to accomplish a 26-month comprehensive Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery Fellowship at Guy's Hospital in London, where I was subsequently appointed Consultant in 2016. I also held an Honorary Clinical Lectureship with King's College London, Division of Cancer Studies from 2015 until 2017.
I offer the full range of contemporary breast cancer surgical treatment, including complex therapeutic mammoplasty, symmetrization surgery, breast reduction and immediate sub-pectoral and pre-pectoral implant-based breast reconstruction with use of acellular dermal matrices. I have particular interest in neoadjuvant strategies, sentinel lymph node biopsy after chemotherapy and advanced oncoplastic breast conservation. I am well published internationally (2 book chapters and 40 peer-reviewed journal papers) and have been involved in Oncoplastic Training and Education of Senior Breast Surgery Trainees.
I see patients privately at the Wellington Hospital, where I provide a comprehensive, rapid-access service to assess all breast-related conditions. I speak English, Greek and French fluently.
