About me
Mr Ahmad Omar is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust .
Mr Omar is the department lead for female and reconstructive surgery and undertakes a broad range of complex reconstructive urological surgery procedures. He has a particular interest in lower urinary tract dysfunction, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections and bladder pain/ interstitial cystitis. He developed highly specialised Uro-plastic surgery service to deal with Buried penile syndrome and other complex peno-scrotal conditions in collaboration with plastic surgery colleagues.
With recent rises in Ketamine related bladder and urinary tract symptoms, Mr Omar established new referral service to manage these patients in particular the challenging bladder pain symptoms.
Mr Omar is also honorary lecturer at Edge Hill University , actively involved in postgraduate medical education.
He maintains a keen interest in clinical research and Trials having completed an MSc in minimal access surgery .He is the author of several peer reviewed papers on functional and reconstructive Urology.
