About me

Mr Wayne Ellis has over 18 years’ experience in Audiology, caring for adults and children of all ages. He is one of only a few clinicians trained in all areas of Audiology, including complex hearing and balance disorders, as well as the highly specialised field of auditory implants (cochlear, middle ear, and bone conduction implants). He holds dual registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist in Audiology (Reg. CS17671) and Hearing Aid Dispenser (Reg. HAD02668).

Background

In 2003, Mr Ellis qualified with a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In 2005, he obtained a master’s degree (MSc) in Audiology from the University of Southampton, where he was awarded the D W Robinson prize for the best dissertation in the field of human sciences. He subsequently completed his post-graduate training at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, where he was awarded the Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC). He is currently Audiology Professional Manager within the Auditory Implant Team at The Royal National ENT Hospital, London, home of the first clinical cochlear implant programme in the UK.

Mr Ellis is a member of the British Academy of Audiology (BAA), British Society of Audiology (BSA), British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA) and British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG). He is dedicated to training and professional development, having spent eight years on the BSA Professional Practice Committee and three years as Chair of the BSA Short Course Sub-Committee. He also regularly lectures on courses at The Ear Institute, University College London. He is actively involved in clinical research and regularly presents his findings at national and international conferences.
