About me

I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in cataract surgery and medical retina at Addenbrooke's hospital Cambridge.

After completing my Ophthalmology training in Yorkshire I undertook advanced Fellowship training in cataract surgery, retinal disease and uveitis at St James’s hospital, Addenbrooke’s and Moorfields Eye Hospital. I now lead the medical retinal service at Addenbrooke's hospital.

I perform small incision cataract surgery with standard and premium lenses and have extensive experience in operating on complex cases and in patients with underlying retinal diseases. I train on the international Microsurgical skills course for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists after being elected in 2015.

I care for patients with age-related macula degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusion, inherited retinal disorders and other general retinal conditions using the most up-to-date treatments. I regularly perform intravitreal injections (Lucentis / Eylea / Avastin / Ozurdex / Illuvien) and laser treatment. I am the Lead for laser simulation training in East Anglia, having developed the region’s first laser simulation training course.

I was previously a Royal College of Ophthalmologists Regional Tutor and delivered training and assessment of Ophthalmologists on the East of England Specialist rotation. I continue to teach specialist trainees at Addenbrooke’s whilst providing advanced fellowship training in Medical Retina.
