About me

I have been a hand and plastic surgery consultant in Liverpool and the north west for the last eight years. I trained as a plastic surgeon at major units in London and the south-east. Some of the the hospitals that I have trained at include: Barts and the Royal London Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital, The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and the world-renowned St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford. I then moved to the region following a highly competitive hand surgery fellowship in Manchester.

In the NHS I currently work in a multidisciplinary team with orthopaedic hand surgery consultants, therapists and nurses and we regularly treat complex cases. I have also developed techniques in breast and body aesthetic surgery since the start of my plastic surgery training 20 years ago and my patients are very pleased with their results.

I am a plastic surgery consultant with a specific interest in hand surgery and aesthetic surgery of the breast and body. The majority of the procedures that I perform are described below:

Hand Surgery: Nerve decompression surgery; carpal tunnel decompression, Guyon's canal release and cubital tunnel decompression. Trigger finger release, ganglion excision. Dupuytren's surgery; percutaneous needle fasciotomy, segmental fasciectomy, selective fasciectomy and dermofasciectomy with skin grafting and/or local flaps. Osteoarthritis of the hand: trapeziectomy, small joint fusion and joint replacement surgery. Rheumatoid hand and other inflammatory hand arthritis conditions. Skin lesions, benign tumours and nail bed disorders of the hand.

Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery: Scar revision, removal of benign skin lesions, breast augmentation, breast reduction, removal of breast implants, exchange of implants, abdominoplasty or 'tummy tuck' +/- muscle repair (mini, full, fleur-de-lys) and liposuction.

To date I have performed around 10,000 surgical procedures, with more than 1000 carpal tunnel and Dupuytren's operations of the hand. I have performed hundreds of aesthetic surgery procedures including breast augmentation, breast reduction and tummy tuck surgery. This is over a 20 year period in both my NHS and private practice.
