About me

Mrs Brenda Smith is a Registered Dietitian, who qualified from Kings College London with a Bachelor in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2009. She was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Allergy from Southampton University in November 2018. Previous to dietetics she worked in finance.
Brenda has practiced as specialist gastroenterology and lead specialist weight management dietitian for NHS services. She has worked privately with adult and adolescent mental health disorders, including experience with eating disorders. She began full-time private practice from May 2018 seeing infants, children, young persons and adults.

Areas of interest

irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); lactose intolerance; fructose intolerance; FODMAPs; other intolerances caused by natural food chemicals (that can mimic allergy); multiple allergies including Cow’s Milk Allergy (both IgE and Non-IgE); coeliac; and other disease such as Crohn’s; Ulcerative Colitis; Liver Disease; Pancreatitis; and post-surgery ileostomy/colostomy; high out-put and short bowel syndrome; Anorexia Nervosa (AN); Bulimia Nervosa (BN); Non Other Specified (NOS); Binge Eating (BED); and differentiating between Avoidance Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and fussy eating; Menopause; Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS); acne; weight loss; cholesterol; pre-diabetes/type 2 diabetes and their reversal); polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS); and high blood pressure.
