About me
Nikki Kelsall is a foot and ankle surgeon treating all problems of the foot and ankle. She graduated from Bristol Medical School in 2001 and spent her first year as a doctor working in both Southmead and Frenchey Hospitals before moving to Liverpool to study for a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Nikki settled in Wessex where she completed her basic surgical training and specialist Trauma & Orthopaedic training.
Her training was augmented with a yearlong Foot & Ankle fellowship at Bournemouth hospital and she was awarded a BOFAS (British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society) international traveling fellowship for her time spent in Heidelberg and Bologna.
Miss Kelsall was appointed as a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at Poole Hospital NHS Trust in 2015 and also works at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Her specialist interests include diabetic foot disease, ulcer avoidance, forefoot abnormalities, sports injuries and trauma to the foot and ankle, degenerative disease of the foot and ankle and arthroscopic (Key hole) surgery. Nikki enjoys finding the best plan for each patient to treat their individual problems – no foot is the same and she feels it’s really important to find the treatment that is going to give the best outcome for each patient, getting them back to doing what’s most important to them as quickly as possible.
Miss Kelsall has published and presented nationally on foot & ankle problems. She is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society as well as the British Orthopaedic Society. She also has a special interest in Medical Education and is passionate about the development of future surgeons. She gained her Masters in Medical Education in 2014 and sits and the Specialty Training Committee for Wessex.
