About me

I am a highly-specialist Speech and Language Therapist working at an NHS teaching hospital and centre of excellence in Manchester as well as in independent practice. Wythenshawe Hospital SLT department is nationally respected and one of the leading services in the country. Prior to this, I have worked in a number of specialist centres throughout London and Manchester.

My areas of interest are assessment, management and rehabilitation of swallowing difficulties, acquired communication problems, tracheostomy, low-awareness states and instrumental assessments such as FEES (endoscopic swallow assessments) and Videofluoroscopy (assessment of swallowing during x-ray). I also am competent in using Phagenyx - a new, groundbreaking treatment for swallowing problems that involves delivering electrical stimuli to the throat area to reinnervate the muscles required for swallow function.

People I work with have typically have difficulties due to stroke, brain injury, progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, MS and MND, cancer or respiratory conditions.

I always ensure my intervention is person specific and wholly relevant. I am open and clear about expected treatment outcomes. I believe a combination of traditional approaches and cutting-edge developments lead to the best possible care. I strive to deliver the best of care to everyone I work with.
