About me
Dr. Christos Angelis is a highly skilled and compassionate
Consultant Anaesthetist, Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine Specialist, with over two decades of experience in both the NHS and private healthcare sectors across the UK and Europe. He holds a substantive consultant post at Whittington Health NHS Trust,
where he provides anaesthesia for a wide variety of surgical specialities and
leads the regional anaesthesia and pain management services.
Dr. Christos Angelis is known for his calm, reassuring presence and meticulous attention to patient safety and comfort. He is an expert in general anaesthesia and in advanced regional anaesthesia techniques - ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, which are used to provide ultimate pain control perioperatively (during and after surgery).
These techniques are especially valuable for orthopaedic, trauma, and complex surgical procedures, but also abdominal, breast, gynaecological and cosmetic operations, helping to reduce postoperative side effects and opioid consumption, while enhancing patient recovery and speeding up hospital discharge.
Dr. Christos Angelis also has a postgraduate qualification
in Pain Management (Cardiff University), Psychology in Pain Management (Ioannina
University) and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He provides care for patients with both acute and chronic pain, including nerve pain, chronic post-surgical pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and complex pain syndromes.
In private practice, he works with several of London's top hospitals, including The London Clinic, Princess Grace, Wellington, Harley Street Clinic, Lister Hospital, and more.
He is a recognised provider with BUPA, Aviva, Vitality,WPA and other insurers.
Dr. Christos Angelis is also deeply involved in education and clinical leadership. He serves as an Honorary Lecturer at UCL Medical School, Clinical and Educational Supervisor, Regional Anaesthesia Lead, Pain lead and NHS Appraiser, helping to train the next generation of doctors and ensure high standards of care across the board.
With a warm and patient-focused approach, Dr. Christos Angelis is committed to delivering safe, tailored anaesthetic care and effective pain relief.
He is always striving to support your comfort, recovery, and overall well-being.
