About me
I have been practising as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital since September 2015.
I undertook post graduate general medical training in London and the Mersey region followed by higher specialist training in Gastroenterology in the Mersey rotation. Following successful award of Certificate of completion of Specialist training in 2014 and having acquired proficiency in general Gastroenterology, I then undertook a senior fellowship in advanced endoscopy and Hepatobiliary medicine.
Areas of interest
I provide comprehensive medical care for patients with stomach and bowel related complaints like reflux, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), investigation of anaemia and rectal bleeding. I have expertise in general Hepatology including investigation and management of abnormal liver function tests, cirrhosis and portal hypertension. I am skilled in the management of problems of the Bile duct and Pancreas especially related to gallstones and cancers.
I am a JAG accredited endoscopist and my training in advanced endoscopy has allowed me to develop expertise in full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and regularly perform; gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), endoluminal stenting, PEG tube insertion, endoscopic balloon dilatations, therapy for GI bleeds, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), FNA and ERCP. I have performed over 8000 endoscopic procedures to date (February 2019).
