About me

I am a BACP accredited counsellor/ psychotherapist and an accredited EMDR Practitioner. I am based just outside Edinburgh in the village of Cockenzie ,East Lothian in Scotland.
I trained in Transactional Analysis (TA), a school of counselling that is particularly versatile and flexible whether used in short term solution focused counselling or for deeper longer term psychotherapeutic work.
I am an EMDR accredited practitioner and use this technique in the treatment of PTSD and trauma. I find it particularly helpful for individuals who have experienced a single trauma such as an accident or any kind of assault or been involved in a traumatic event. It is also helpful in treating depression and anxiety. I also use EMDR Flash Technique a minimally invasive and very effective treatment for severe PTSD symptoms,
My particular area of interest is workplace bullying and harassment. I specialise in helping people who have been exposed to a hostile work environment and are left feeling traumatised by this toxic interaction. I have extensive experience and training in this field and it was the subject of my MSc Thesis and is an ongoing area of research.
As a member of the International Association for Workplace Bullying and Harassment (IAWBH), I keep up to date with the latest research developments in this field and I also maintain a research interest in this area and may occasionally invite clients to participate in research studies.
