About me
My name is Louise Sloan and I am a highly specialist speech and language therapist. I currently work as one of the senior clinicians at Wythenshawe Hospital; a teaching hospital and centre of excellence specialising in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, heart & lung transplantation, respiratory conditions, burns & plastics and cancer services. Wythenshawe speech therapy department is well known to be one of the leading speech therapy services in the north of England and competes as one of the most forward-thinking in the country. I therefore have considerable experience of working with exceptionally complex patients in the acute, outpatient and community setting. My specialist areas are adult acquired disorders of swallowing and voice as well as instrumental assessments. I am also qualified to assess and treat communication impairments (aphasia, dysarthria, dyspraxia, cognitive communication), however I do not consider this my specialist area. I am a very caring individual and my aim is always to provide the most up to date and optimal standard of care, in the most empathetic manner, to all my patients. I have started working privately after my mum suffered a stroke and she was unable to access the necessary amount of AHP rehabilitation from the NHS to optimise her recovery. We paid privately for extra input and this has been invaluable for her progress. I hope to be able to help others in similar situations and provide first class care.
For more information please see my website www.scvsolutions.co.uk
I am available to see patients at Greater Lancashire Hospital on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. I can also offer home visits for patients that are unable or would prefer to be seen in their own home - I can be more flexible with these appointment times.
