About me
Mr Makhosini Mlotshwa is a consultant General and Bariatric Surgeon. He is a full time consultant in the NHS. He specialises in gastrointestinal and weight loss surgery. He performs open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for gastrointestinal conditions that include gallbladder, bowel and appendix.
He also performs surgery for abdominal wall hernia, obesity (weight loss), lumps and bumps, benign anorectal, pilonidal disease and endoscopy services.
Mr M Mlotshwa qualified in 1997 and obtained fellowship in general surgery with the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa in 2005. He further pursued post graduate training in the United Kingdom obtaining Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015.
He also completed a year Fellowship in Bariatric (weight loss) and Metabolic surgery with the Western Sussex Hospitals Institute that is accredited by the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) as a centre of excellence.
Mr M Mlotshwa is a keen teacher of basic principles of surgery in both national and international platforms. He has interests in key national and international research collaboratives.
His hobbies include golf, cycling and site-seeing
