About me

Mr Faizul Hassan is a Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.

Mr Hassan graduated from Bangladesh's prestigious medical school, Dhaka Medical College, and completed his basic surgical and started his neurosurgical training in Dhaka before emigrating to the UK to complete his MRCS. He then secured a place on the fiercely competitive National Neurosurgery Training Programme that lasted for eight years in Northern Deanery while subsequently completing his FRCS Neurosurgery Degree.

He has also completed a one year Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship in Newcastle upon Tyne's Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Mr Hassan's special interests include cervical spine conditions, intradural tumours, metastatic spinal cord tumours and minimal invasive spinal neurosurgery. He has published many articles in international journals and has attended and presented papers at national and international conferences.

He is married to a GP working in the West Midlands and enjoys playing outdoor sports such as cricket and badminton.
