About me

The relationship between physical and psychological wellbeing is central to my practice and I have a special interest in promoting and enabling psychological well being for people experiencing difficulties with their mental and/or physical well being. I therefore take referrals relating to the psychological consequences of physical and mental health problems.
Using an integrative approach, I work collaboratively with people to identify specific areas for change, set realistic goals and develop effective self management strategies in order to optimise mental and physical well being. This may mean thinking about the impact of symptoms relating to depression or anxiety on daily functioning or the physical and psychological consequences of trauma; coming to terms with a difficult diagnosis; managing the impact of medical or surgical interventions or making changes to daily life to minimise the impact of ongoing illness and disease on quality of life.
I have worked across NHS, charitable and private settings for over 25 years.
I currently practice independently, also holding contracts with Compassion in Dying, Prostate Cance UK, Pathway Healthcare, London Crisis Skylight Services, London Crisis Christmas, and mentoring Doctoral trainees on the Clinical Psychology Course at The University of Surrey. I also act as an expert witness and provide supervision and consultancy services to psychologists, health professionals and organisations.
I work flexibly to meet each person's needs and so offer both face to face or online sessions.
