About me
Dr. Waring is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine specialising in the non?surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. He works with patients of all ages, from recreational exercisers to elite athletes, with the aim of restoring function, performance and long?term joint health.
He is currently Chief Medical Officer at Surrey Women's County Cricket Club and has previously worked with The Football Association, Fulham Football Club and British Athletics. Alongside elite sport, he maintains a busy clinical practice at Fortius Clinic.
Dr. Waring focuses on evidence?based conservative care wherever possible and regularly uses diagnostic ultrasound in clinic to provide immediate assessment and guide treatment. When needed, he can arrange further investigations including blood tests, X?ray, MRI, CT and DEXA scans to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate care pathways.
He has a particular interest in tendon disorders and bone overuse injuries and frequently treats adolescent athletes. Dr. Waring understands the challenges of the growing musculoskeletal system and works closely with families, physiotherapists and other rehabilitation professionals to deliver clear and safe treatment plans.
He works as part of a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, surgeons, podiatrists and allied health professionals, helping patients return to full functional capacity.
Dr. Waring graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2009 and completed his Core Medical Training in London, gaining MRCP in 2014. He undertook specialist training in Sport and Exercise Medicine across leading London centres including Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.
He holds a Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine (with Distinction) from Queen Mary University of London, the Intercollegiate Faculty Diploma, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (with Distinction). He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK).
