About me
Jane (Lofthouse) Johnston, PgDip, BSc Hons, MChs, HCPC Registered. Sports & Musculoskeletal Podiatrist. Jane is a podiatrist with a wide variety of experience having worked in the NHS, MOD and Private sector since graduating from Queen Margaret University with a 1st Class Honors degree in Podiatry in 2001.
She posses an in depth practical knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment modalities as well as orthotic materials, prescription and manufacture, formalised through the completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Podiatric Biomechaincs with Merit from Staffordshire University.
Jane treats all lower limb musculoskeletal injuries and works with athletes of all levels. She currently holds a contract with Sport Scotland to treat Scotland's elite athletes.
Jane combines 3D gait analysis (the gold standard of gait analysis) with strength and flexibility testing as part of her clinical assessment options and uses the data based outcomes of this assessment to help inform appropriate treatment plans.
Walking and running re-education plans can also be formed by analysing the 3D gait analysis data.
