About me
Mr Lee has been a consultant for 23 years having qualified from Guys hospital in 1983 following a BSc in Visual Science. He then worked at a number of London Teaching hospitals and Guy's Hospital before being appointed to Hillingdon Hospital and the Western Eye hospital in 1996.
He has a special interest in Medical retina which includes Age Related Macular Degeneration and the new treatments including the intra vitreal injections.
He likes to keep at the very forefront of treatments and is well know to be an early adopter of new treatments and equipment. He had one of the first Zeiss OCT angiogram scanners enabling at the consultation to see great detail of the retina where previously Dye and photographs were needed. This is a major step forward in 2016 for Medical retina imaging, and as yet limited in the NHS. He has his own OCT machine called K9 which travels with him from hospital to hospital
He sees patients in a wide variety of settings from Private hospitals to the Private wings of NHS hospitals and also in comfort of his own Practice at his home.
He is Ophthalmic Preseident of the Royal Society of Medicine 2018-2020 and is a keen teacher.
His wife often works with him as his Technician and is well know at The Western Eye Hospital for bringing along cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea!
Mr Lee is well know for his Very colourful Waist coats and matching ties made by Pat Parker in the East End of London. Sadly in scrubs now due to COVID.
Mr Lee's team are very friendly and experienced, and will try and help in what ever way they can.
Our Office Practice at Blaire house is totally isolated and offers high levels of protection and patient separation during these difficult times. It is proving very popular choice as only one patient allowed in the building per time. Mr Lee has more equipment here than at any other location.
