About me

I graduated in 1989 being awarded the University Gold Medal in Medicine from India. I then did Masters in Paediatrics following which I qualified for Diplomate of National Board in Paediatrics.
I completed my Specialist Registrar Training at Sheffield Children's Hospital working in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology.

I took up my Consultant post in 2004 at Mid Yorkshire Hospital and am the lead for Paediatric Epilepsy at Dewsbury. I run general paediatrics and dedicated epilepsy & neuromuscular disorder clinic.
I have keen interest in teaching. I established the annual Yorkshire Neurology network study day in 2007 and this continues to be a successful meeting. I am the course director and tutor at Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) level 1 held alternate years at Dewsbury hospital. Over the years we have also hosted the Paediatric Membership examinations (MRCPCH) where I examine too. All these have been supported by excellent feedback.

I was the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, Officer for the North East of England and RCPCH council member from November 2015 to December 2020.

Since February 2024 I have taken the role of senior examiner for RCPCH
