About me

Adam Balen is a full time National Health Service consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, where he is Lead Clinician of Leeds Fertility, the Leeds Assisted Conception Unit.

His special interests include all aspects of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), all causes and treatments of infertility/subfertility, all IVF and Assisted Conception treatments.

Adam is former Chair of the British Fertility Society, a member of the WHO Global Infertility Guidelines Committee and Chair of the WHO Expert Working Group on the management of PCOS. He sits on the Council of the RCOG.

He is the author of 16 books and over 260 peer-reviewed papers. Books include The Fertility Book - A Guide for Patients (2021) and Infertility in Practice (5th edition 2021).
