About me

I offer a confidential, professional, non-judgemental space in which we can explore how to find a way forward with whatever you are facing. My primary role as a therapist is to listen very carefully to what you are saying and then to explore with you whether we are both understanding the same thing. Through this process of sharing and clarification, we can gradually gain insight into what is really happening for you. Over the years, I have come to trust that this special kind of attentive relationship based on mutual trust and respect can itself be sufficient to bring about insights and identify meaningful solutions. In the unique space of the therapeutic relationship, we can then consider strategies to build on those insights and look together at the effect that this has in your life and whatever difficulties you are facing.
I am trained in Humanistic, Person-Centred counselling. I have also received training in other counselling approaches, including integrative, solution-focused, online therapy, existential and attachment-based therapy, which I draw on to inform and enrich my work with clients.

Areas of interest

I work extensively with individuals facing loss and bereavement; difficulty in relationships; low self-esteem; depression; anxiety; and work related problems and stress; and I have additional training in working with trauma. I also have a special interest in working with people living or working outside of their countries of birth, and those facing the many challenges associated with international commuting and frontier work. These include cross-cultural issues, personal development and life changes, relationship and family issues, and the challenges faced by specialist groups such as research scholars and entrepreneurs.
