About me
We all reach points in life where we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or far from ourselves. Whether you're navigating a crisis, processing loss, living with long-standing patterns, or sensing a quiet ache for something more, you don't have to do it alone.
I offer one-to-one counselling for adults and young people, creating a space where you can meet yourself with honesty, care, and compassion. My work is grounded in the belief that healing arises when we feel safe enough to tell the truth of our experience and are met with warmth, presence, and respect.
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and somatic trauma therapist, with many years' experience supporting people through life's transitions and challenges. Alongside traditional talking therapy, I gently weave in approaches such as:
*Somatic awareness practices to support grounding, regulation, and reconnection with the body (informed by polyvagal theory and neurobiology)
*Mindfulness and relaxation techniques to cultivate presence and self-compassion
*Creative and nature-based practices, including drawing or image-making, when words are hard to find
*IFS-inspired ways of working, supporting curiosity and compassion toward different parts of the self
I don't aim to fix or advise. Instead, I walk alongside you, offering a grounded, attuned presence as you reconnect with your own inner wisdom. I see counselling as an act of remembering who we are beneath the armour, stories, and survival strategies we've learned.
A Space to Be
My practice, Space to Be, reflects what I aim to offer: a gentle, non-clinical environment where you can soften, explore, and come home to yourself. It's a space that welcomes the messy, tender, and unspoken parts of you, and honours your pacing.
Support for Young People (ages 1325)
Adolescence and early adulthood can be intense, beautiful, and overwhelming. These years often involve profound emotional, physical, and social change, alongside questions of identity, belonging, and purpose.
Counselling offers young people a place to slow down, explore what they're feeling, and make sense of their experience away from the pressures of school, family, or social expectations. Sometimes, having a consistent and trusted adult who listens without judgement can be deeply healing in itself.
My approach with young people is warm, creative, and relational, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work. Sessions may include:
*Person-Centred and trauma-informed talking therapy
*Creative expression, especially when words feel inaccessible
*Mindfulness and body-based practices to support regulation and self-trust
*Psycho-education around emotions, anxiety, or trauma responses
*CBT- and ACT-informed strategies for managing difficult thoughts or behaviours
Above all, I offer a safe and accepting space where young people can be themselves, explore what matters to them, and develop greater confidence and self-awareness. I am committed to creating an affirming space for neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, sensitive, and highly empathic teens and young adults.
For Parents and Caregivers
If your teenager is struggling, it can be hard to know how best to help. You're not alone. I'm happy to offer an initial call to talk through your concerns, explore whether counselling feels like the right support, and consider how best to support your child and family.
