About me

I began my training In the Guys, Kings, Thomas’s training rotation. I have worked in various posts in the South including in South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (Child and adolescent mental health, substance misuse). I have worked in Oxleas NHS Foundations Trust (Primary care plus), East London NHS Foundation Trust (Cognitive behavioural therapy), Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (General adult). I’m currently a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS South West London and St. Georges NHS Trust. I am specialized as a General adult psychiatrist. I have 20 years experience in psychiatry.

I am a RMO under the Mental Health Act, 1983.
I have a Masters in Psychiatric research from Kings College, Institute of Psychiatry. I was a lead author in a paper ‘Psychotic symptoms on the over 65’s in low and middle income countries’.

I believe in seeing my clients in a holistic manner. I take into consideration a wide range of perspectives from biological to psychological to social angles. Your personal choices and beliefs are important to me and respected. I will work hand in hand with your GP or private prescribing services to deliver you the best quality treatments. I will work to your satisfaction. I work according to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence guidelines on treating mental health conditions as well as other relevant research papers.

Areas of interest

I have expertise in many areas of Psychiatry and particularly work with people suffering with Depression; Anxiety disorders; Bipolar affective disorder; Schizophrenia; Acute and transient psychotic disorder; Panic disorder; Emotionally unstable personality disorder; Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; and post-traumatic stress disorder to name some of them.
My special interest is in Bipolar Affective disorder
