About me
I am a British trained fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon. I work at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester in both the Plastic Surgery department and the Breast Unit. I am on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
My practice is centred on providing well-informed, patient-driven and personalised care for patients. I specialise in breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery for women and focus on providing attractive, natural and long-lasting results. I offer women a full range of options for breast reconstruction using the latest techniques and including microsurgical procedures to reconstruct the breast using the body’s own tissue. I also specialise in rejuvenation of the breasts and body for women.
I completed my primary degree (MB, ChB) and initial medical training in Manchester. Having progressed rapidly to registrar level, I went on to complete a research doctorate (M.D.) at the University of Manchester prior to embarking on higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery.
I trained initially in London working for and learning from some of the UK’s leaders in the field of breast aesthetics and breast reconstruction. I subsequently moved to Manchester to complete my six years training in Plastic Surgery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS(Plast).
My training was further enhanced with a year-long oncoplastic breast fellowship in the prestigious Nightingale Centre in Manchester. This gave me training in breast oncology and equipped me with the skills to perform cancer resection in addition to reconstructive surgery. Alongside my fellowship I am one of only a few plastic surgeons in the country to have undertaken a masters programme in oncoplastic breast surgery.
I spent an additional year post-qualification undertaking a fellowship in Microsurgery in Perth, Australia. I was asked to stay on in Australia as a Consultant specialising in breast reconstruction and worked there until joining Leeds in February 2018. Following a one year period in Leeds I was asked to join the expanding specialist breast plastic surgery unit in Manchester.
I provide a thorough pre-operative assessment to ensure that patient’s are given the best possible advice. I strive to ensure that patients are fully aware of the implications, benefits and potential complications of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. I am committed to delivering high quality, well-informed care in an environment that empowers patients to make decisions about the options available to them.
