About me

Dr Carlos Corredor is a consultant in Cardiothoracic Critical Care and Anaesthesia at Barts Heart Centre, London, where he has been in post since 2017. Dr Corredor completed medical school at Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia in 2000, then moved to London where he dual trained in anaesthesia and intensive care, rotating through major tertiary centres. Following completion of his U.K. training, he undertook a fellowships in cardiothoracic anaesthesia / critical care and anaesthesia for major transplant at Toronto General Hospital, Ontario, Canada. During his time in North America, he obtained certification in advanced perioperative echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography of the U.S. Dr Corredor’s special interests include the perioperative care of patients undergoing major aortovascular surgery, neurological protection and monitoring, haemostasis and blood conservation and the use of perioperative point of care ultrasound. Dr Corredor currently leads the aortovascular critical care unit at Barts Heart Centre.
