About me
Mr Matthew Welck is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of complex foot and ankle conditions.
He is an Honorary Associate Professor at University College London (UCL) and a Founding Partner of Stanmore Foot & Ankle Specialists, where he provides specialist, personalised care for patients with both routine and highly complex problems.
His clinical expertise includes ankle arthritis and ankle replacement surgery, foot shape abnormalities, sports-related foot and ankle injuries, bunions, and arthritis of the big toe.
Mr Welck is double fellowship-trained and undertook an additional combined clinical and research fellowship at the internationally renowned Foot and Ankle Institute in Baltimore, USA, working under Dr Mark Myerson, one of the world's leading foot and ankle surgeons.
He is a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence, where he manages complex cases referred from across the United Kingdom.
He works within a multidisciplinary team of expert radiologists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, specialist nurses, orthotists, and anaesthetists to ensure patients receive comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to their individual needs.
His commitment to research, innovation, and teaching is recognised both nationally and internationally, and he serves on British and European Foot & Ankle Society committees, contributing to the advancement of foot and ankle care at the highest level.
