Mr David Machin is a highly experienced consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with specialist expertise in foot and ankle surgery, including complex reconstruction, sports injuries, arthritis management, and minimally invasive procedures.

He provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions at The Spire Yale Hospital, Wrexham, The Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester, The Spire Abergele Clinic and The Grange Clinic Chester.

Mr Machin is dedicated to delivering high?quality, patient?centred care and offers both virtual and face?to?face consultations, ensuring flexible access to specialist advice and treatment.

Professional background
Alongside his private practice, Mr Machin serves as a Consultant Trauma and Foot Ankle Surgeon at The Countess of Chester Hospital, where he manages both elective and emergency foot and ankle conditions.

He previously held the same clinical role at Mid?Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he also served as Associate Medical Director for Surgery & Cancer, Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma Lead in the Trust; contributing to service development and clinical leadership.

Mr Machin completed his advanced orthopaedic, fellowship, training at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, gaining extensive experience in the management of elective, complex elective, revision, and trauma?related foot and ankle disorders. Prior to this, he undertook six years of specialist orthopaedic training within the Mersey Deanery.

He graduated with Honours from the University of Liverpool School of Medicine in 2003, establishing a strong academic foundation for his surgical career.
