About me

I am a Consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire hospital specialisng in Hip and Knee pathologies.
I am a full time NHS consultant providing arthroplasty services at University Hospitals of Birmingham.
I have had a successful Consultant practice at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton before moving close to home at Birmingham.

I am a Honorary Associate Clinical Professor in the Institute of Clinical Sciences within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham

I served as Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with University of Leicester for 3 years.

Specialization:
I specialize in treating adult Hip and Knee pathologies. I perform primary hip and knee replacements. My special interest includes treating failed hip and knee replacements. I undertake procedures of Hip replacement, Knee replacement, Revision Hip replacement, Revision knee Replacement and Knee Arthroscopy.

Training:
My Basic surgical training was in south east London at University Hospital Lewisham where I completed my MRCS.
My Higher specialist Orthopaedic training was in the West Midlands on prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme leading to FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) and CCST.
I have undertaken Advanced Arthroplasty (Joint replacement) Fellowship at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.

Expertise:
I utilize posterior approach for hip replacements sparing the important hip abductor muscles helping speedy recovery and excellent post-operative outcome for the patients. I use specialist templating computer software to plan my surgery to improve the outcomes. I implement enhanced recovery program after hip and knee replacements for safe and quicker recovery of the patients.

Academic interests:
I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with University of Leicester. I have lectured at numerous national and international meetings. I have published multiple papers in Scientific Journals. I teach on various undergraduate and post graduate courses.
