About me
Dr Christopher Harland Is an experienced General Dermatologist, having first entered the specialty in 1987. Since then he has accrued 30 years of experience at leading NHS Trusts, whilst developing interests in skin cancer and laser therapy. He Is the past-president (2016-17) of the prestigious St John's Dermatology Society, and President Elect for The Dermatology Section, The Royal Society of London. Lead Clinician in Skin Cancer at his host NHS Trust, Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust; his other NHS post is at The Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton, where he faces challenging cases of cancer-related skin problems as well as skin cancers. A proportion of his referrals relate to skin cancers and moles; he is an expert in the use of Dermoscopy for subsurface visualisation of suspicious lesions, and he offers surgical removal of moles and skin cancers. At Epsom Hospital, where the acclaimed sk:n unit has been relocated from Sutton Hospital, he treats a diverse range of medical and cosmetic skin problems with lasers.
Areas of interest
General Adult Dermatology; mole checks and dermoscopy; mole excision and skin cancer surgery; laser treatment of various skin conditions including birthmarks, red faces and thread veins, lentigos/liver spots, warts and verrucas etc. Please note: surgical treatment for lipomas and cysts not offered.
