About me
Having completed a first degree in Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, Ms Dartnell entered medicine as a mature student to Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School. Qualifying, with distinction, as a doctor in 2004, she moved on to Basic Surgical Training in North East London.
During her Higher Surgical Training in the South East London Region she worked in a number of hospitals as a paediatric orthopaedic registrar, including Great Ormond Street Children's hospital, Evelina Children's Hospital and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. During this training she also gained an MSc in Trauma & Orthopaedics writing a dissertation on Musculoskeletal Infection in children which helped to inform National guidelines.
She returned to Evelina Children's Hospital in 2013 for a Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics and then on to National University Hospital in Singapore where she continued Fellowship training and was offered the role as a Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Orthopaedics. Gaining her CCT in Trauma and Orthopaedics in October 2014, she was appointed as a Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells in March 2015.

Limb deformity -congenital and acquired - limbs needing lengthening/shortening/straightening as result of birth abnormality, trauma, infection. Procedures include- limb reconstruction with acute corrections, external fixator frames, growth modulation
Hips problems in childhood - hip dysplasia, Perthes, Slipped capital epiphysis, trauma
Knee problems and pain- sports injuries -meniscal tears, osteochondral defects. Procedures include arthroscopic repairs,
Trauma -procedures include all trauma
