About me
I have been working as a Consultant Physician/Gastroenterologist since 2013 and have been providing both endoscopy and Outpatient Clinical Services. I graduated from Ziauddin Medical University Pakistan and continued my further training as a General Physician and Gastroenterologist from South West London Deanery. I have trained at reputable organisations including King's College Hospital, St. George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust. In further pursuit of my interests, I have achieved an MSC. in Nutritional Medicine from University of Surrey.
I am a specialist in adult Gastroenterology and my practice covers management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Functional Gut Disorders like IBS, Nutrition, Pancreatic/Liver Diseases, Reflux and motility disorders including Histus Hernia. I am also a skilled endoscopist and regularly perform Diagnostic and Therapeutic Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (OGD) and Colonoscopy as part of my routine work. My training in endoscopy is accredited by JAG (Joint Advisory Group for GI Endoscopy) and I am also an approved trainer in endoscopic procedures. I also undertake PEG insertions (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) which is a means of artificial tube insertion for feeding.
I have performed over 5000 Gastroscopies and similar number of colonoscopies. I am also trained in management and therapeutic endoscopy of Gastrointestinal bleeding. I am accredited colonoscopist for therapeutic polypectomy as well (removal of polyps).
I was previously Nutritional Lead for Medway Maritime Hospital.
I have been involved in teaching and training of junior doctors in the field of internal medicine, gastroenterology and endoscopy.
