Research interests

•Treatment of Obstruction in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy; Alcohol Septal Ablation (ASA), surgical myectomy and direct radiofrequency ablation.

•Sports Cardiology including: Differentiation of the athlete’s heart from Cardiomyopathy, management of athletes with heart conditions.



•Exercise in hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

•Genetic basis of cardiac disease including the 100,000 Genome Project.

•Use of 3D printing to guide personalised structural intervention in Cardiology.

Personal interests

My family are very important to me, most of my spare time is spent with them. I try to practice what I preach and exercise as much as possible.

Awards received

Miles Frost Fund British Heart Foundation grant - to improve patient access to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy care 2018.

Imperial College London National heart and Lung Institute Best clinical abstract 2013.

British Cardiac Intervention Society Young Investigator award finalist 2014.

Ethics of palliative care - Undergraduate award University of Liverpool.

I have published mainly in the field of heart muscle disease, this includes 2 textbook chapters, 11 review articles, 15 original research papers, 28 abstracts and 16 case reports/series. These can be accessed via pubmed or ResearchGate.
