About me

I am currently offering sessions either by telephone or video call, either option can work really well. During 2020 I have undertaken thorough training in effective online therapy and I will continue to offer online sessions in addition to resuming in person sessions as soon as it is possible to do so.

My working life started with a career in human resources, where after several years training I achieved Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. I remained in HR for over 15 years and enjoyed roles where I provided support to individuals who were experiencing difficulties at work, either through work- related issues, stress, home life or ill health.

It seemed a natural step to get more involved with supporting individuals and in 2005 I began my career in counselling. I have trained and worked in a variety of settings, including a GP Practice, a large counselling organisation, a bereavement service, work place counselling services and my private practice where I will be pleased to see you.

I have experience in helping a range of people improve their outlook, wellbeing and relationships, in particular I have experience with:
• anxiety
• depression
• relationships
• communication
• low self-esteem
• low mood
• bullying
• bereavement and loss
• destructive behaviours
• ill health concerns
• anger management
• work related issues
• stress
• career changes

I feel passionate about the benefits of counselling. My approach is to really listen to what you are saying and to understand what this means to you. With a supportive and attentive approach I will help you work through your difficulties and towards solutions that are right for you.

I see individual adult clients and couples for relationship counselling.
