About me
Hello, my name is Barbara and I am an experienced and qualified psychologist and psychotherapist with over 20 years of practice. I am currently based in private practice at my own clinic 'Select Healthy Mind Ltd' located in Eton, near Windsor, Berkshire, having previously worked as a senior practitioner in the NHS. Through years of ongoing study, research, and practice, I have had the pleasure of supporting clients from both the NHS and private sectors.
I am registered with numerous professional bodies, including the EMDR Associations of UK & Europe as a Consultant Psychotherapist & Supervisor, the British Association for Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (BACP) as a fully accredited CBT therapist and licensed practitioner. I am also trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy by IFS UK and am an Honours member of The British Psychological Society (BPS).
In my current role as Clinical Director and lead psychotherapist at 'Select Healthy Mind Ltd' in Windsor, I take great pride in offering consultations and treatment plans that are individually tailored to reflect each person's distinct needs and requirements. My own specialty is the treatment of both adults and children suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression, mood disturbance, phobias (social phobia, specific phobias), obsessive-compulsive and panic disorders.
I find the most satisfaction in successfully working with patients experiencing symptoms related to trauma/PTSD and issues stemming from childhood trauma, developmental and attachment focused trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD.
Valuing the importance of a therapeutic relationship, I base my work with clients on trust and partnership. Drawing on my extensive experience, I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where the client feels acknowledged, listened to, and supported. I believe that we are all unique, and therefore I integrate the therapeutic models in which I have been trained to treat the person behind the presenting symptoms.
