About me
Hello, my name is Barbara and I am a psychologist and psychotherapist based in Eton, nr. Windsor, Berkshire. I am qualified with many years of study, research and practice in helping clients from both the N.H.S. & private sector.
I am registration with numerous professional bodies and hold full accreditation with the British Association for Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as E.M.D.R. UK & Ireland... where I am currently in the process of moving towards 'Consultancy' level. I am also an Honours member of The British Psychological Society (BPS)
My current role is Clinical Director and lead therapist of the ‘Select Healthy Mind Ltd' in Windsor. As a private clinic we take pride in offering consultations and ‘individually tailored’ treatment plans, that reflect each person’s distinct needs and requirements.
My own specialty is the treatment of both adults and children suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression, mood disturbance, phobias (social phobia, specific phobias), OCD (obsessive- compulsive disorder) and panic disorders. I gain most satisfaction from successfully working with patients suffering symptoms related to trauma/P.T.S.D. and have a focus on issues stemming from childhood trauma.
Valuing the importance of a therapeutic relationship, I base my relationships with my clients on trust and partnership. Drawing on extensive experience I aim to provide a safe and non- judgmental environment where the client feels acknowledged, listened to and supported.
I believe that we are all unique and that no one type of therapy 'fits' all, therefore I integrate the therapeutic models in which I have been trained to treat the person behind the presenting symptoms.
