About me
Private Consultant Dermatologist in the West Midlands
Skin Cancer Specialist | Medical & Surgical Dermatology
I am a friendly and highly experienced Private Consultant Dermatologist in the West Midlands, with over 15 years' experience providing expert diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, and nail conditions. I am passionate about delivering personalised, high-quality private dermatology care, ensuring each patient receives thorough assessment, clear explanations, and tailored treatment plans.
I completed my undergraduate medical training at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School, London, where I was awarded the Warneford medical scholarship. After postgraduate training at Barts and The London Hospitals, I undertook specialist training through the West Midlands Higher Specialist Training Programme in Dermatology, achieving Specialist Accreditation in 2012. During this time, I published numerous in peer-reviewed journals and presented research at national and international dermatology conferences.
In my private dermatology practice in the West Midlands, I offer comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of inflammatory skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and other rashes affecting the skin, hair, and nails. I also provide standard patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis and treatment for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) using botulinum toxin injections.
My subspecialist area of expertise is skin cancer risk assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including private mole checks and skin cancer screening. I run weekly skin cancer clinics within the NHS and have been Consultant Lead for Skin Cancer at Walsall Manor Hospital since 2013. I am an active member of the West Midlands Skin Cancer Expert Advisory Group. As a trained dermatological surgeon, I perform regular surgical procedures, completing over 200 skin surgery cases each year, and I have advanced training in complex skin cancer surgery.
Alongside my clinical work, I am strongly committed to medical education and training. I am currently Head of Academy at Walsall, leading undergraduate medical education for the Trust and I previously served as Specialty Lead for Dermatology at the University of Birmingham for six years, with responsibility for dermatology teaching, assessment, and examinations.
