About me
Robin Taylor is a Consultant Cardiologist at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust, having been appointed to this post in March 2016. Dr Taylor practises all aspects of general cardiology and sees patients with chest pains, palpitations, black-outs, breathlessness, heart murmurs, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
He has a special interest in the field of heart failure, and as lead heart failure consultant he is developing services across the county. He also has a specialist interest in managing patients with heart rhythm disorders. Dr Taylor is an active member of the British Heart Rhythm Society and is accredited in the implantation and follow-up of pacemakers.
Dr Taylor graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2001. His specialist cardiology training was centred in Newcastle, Middlesbrough and London. He returned to the University of Birmingham and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was awarded a doctorate for his work examining how evolving imaging techniques can be used to improve the care for patients receiving pacemakers.
Dr Taylor maintains an active research interest and continues to publish and present projects nationally and internationally. He is also heavily involved in teaching and training, and is a member of the specialist committee that oversees the training of cardiologists across the West Midlands.
