About me
Dr Tom Mwambingu has been a Consultant Cardiologist since 2012. A graduate of Leeds University, the early years of his junior doctor career were in West Yorkshire. He completed his specialist cardiology training in the North East, where he trained at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
His principle interests reside in coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac imaging, and sports cardiology. Such training and expertise allows him to deliver timely and accurate diagnosis for the patient presenting with any of the possible symptoms and signs of cardiovascular disease, whether this be chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations or heart murmurs. The key tenets of his management are honest discussion and patient involvement along every step of the treatment process.
