About me
Damian Clark is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee and Trauma Surgeon specialising in knee conditions, sports injuries and robotic-assisted knee replacement.
He performs the full spectrum of knee surgery, including robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement, ligament reconstruction, arthroscopy, osteotomy and patellofemoral surgery. Damian has a particular passion for the precision that robotic-assisted surgery offers. By combining detailed pre-operative planning with advanced robotic technology, he is able to personalise every knee replacement to the individual patient's anatomy, with the aim of achieving accurate implant positioning and a natural-feeling result.
Damian has a longstanding connection with Bristol. He attended school in the city before returning to complete his specialist orthopaedic training here. Having established both his career and family life in the region, he is passionate about providing exceptional musculoskeletal care to the people of Bristol and the South West.
Damian studied medicine at King's College London before undertaking further academic training through the University of Swansea and the University of Bristol. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training within the Severn Deanery and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) together with the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Fellowship in 2013.
He has completed advanced specialist fellowships in Canada, Australia and the UK, gaining experience treating everyone from elite professional athletes to recreational sportspeople. During his Canadian fellowship he received two research awards. He combines this international experience with modern, evidence-based practice, bringing advanced surgical techniques and the latest robotic technology to patients in Bristol.
Damian understands that surgery is a significant decision. He believes in taking the time to listen, explain every treatment option clearly and tailor treatment to each individual. Whether treatment involves rehabilitation, injection therapy or surgery, his aim is to help every patient return to the activities that matter most to them.
