About me
Mr Ewan Bigsby is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in upper limb surgery. He treats both sports and degenerative conditions affecting the soft tissues and joints of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He has an interest in teaching and training, and has completed a Masters degree in Medical Education at Bristol University. He also has a PhD and continues his research interests, publishing regularly on all aspects of trauma and orthopaedics, including shoulder and elbow replacement surgery.
Areas of interest
Sports and degenerative conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
In the shoulder: rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement & bursitis, frozen shoulder, acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) arthritis, ACJ injury, shoulder instability / dislocation, labral injuries, and shoulder arthritis.
In the elbow: elbow stiffness, elbow impingement / loose bodies, cubital tunnel syndrome (numbness in the hand caused by a problem at the elbow), and tennis elbow.
In the wrist & hand: Dupuytrens disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger / thumb, DeQuervains, TFCC injuries, base of thumb arthritis, and arthritis affecting the joints of the wrist and hand.
In addition to sports and degenerate conditions, all trauma affecting the upper limb (from clavicles down to fingers) is also treated.
