About me
Mr Halsey has been a full time Consultant Hand & Wrist surgeon since 2013.
Tim studied at the University of Bristol Medical School, was a junior surgeon in London and completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the Cambridge rotation. He then spent two years gaining additional experience in hand surgery with fellowships in London and Melbourne, Australia. An award from the Royal College of Surgeons of England enabled him to visit centres of excellence in Lyon, Reims and Paris to learn advanced wrist arthroscopy techniques. His interest in wrist trauma was further developed through an AO Trauma Fellowship in Salzburg, Austria.
Mr Halsey has published, presented and won national prizes for research articles on a variety of subjects. He enjoys teaching the next generation of surgeons and is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers and faculty for AO trauma training courses having also served as course chair for several years.
Mr Halsey holds the European Diploma in Hand Surgery and his expertise permits him membership of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society, the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the British Mountain Medicine Society.
Tim enjoyed working as a substantive Consultant Hand & Wrist Surgeon at the combined Ortho-Plastic Hand Unit at Chelsea & Westminster hospital in London for 4 years, commuting from the Peak District. He is now appreciating working closer to home!
Away from work he can usually be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife Rachel, who is a physio, and their three children.
