About me

Having trained at the West of Scotland Deanery, Mr Mansour gained a wide range of experience in different Surgical sub-specialties with a special interest in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic surgical procedures.

Prior to obtaining his specialist registration, Mr Mansour was appointed as a Surgical Clinical Fellow at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, University of Glasgow. This fellowship enabled him to gain invaluable experience in both Oesophago-gastric (OG) and Pancreatico biliary (HPB) Surgery at a world renowned pancreatic and Oesophago-gastric centre of excellence.

Mr Mansour was appointed upon completion of his training as a Consultant Surgeon in Nuneaton, West Midlands followed by a substantive appointment as a Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon at Pennine Acute NHS trust, Greater Manchester in 2014.

Mr Mansour currently practices as an UGI Consultant Surgeon at Manchester University Foundation trust. One of the largest and most dynamic University affiliated trusts in the UK.

Since October 2014, Mr Mansour managed to introduce and develop with his UGI colleagues, a complex benign Upper GI Service for the Pennine Acute NHS trust population including an established Anti reflux and Hiatal / Diaphragmatic hernia surgery service.

He also established with his Gastrointestinal and Radiology colleagues a weekly UGI and HPB multidisciplinary meeting that is dedicated to complex benign Upper GI and HPB pathologies. This service has been up and running since his appointment in 2014.

As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom, Mr Mansour is committed to medical education and training of medical students and surgical trainees.
