About me

I am a trained Registered General Nurse, who specialised in Cardiac nursing. I began training in psychological therapy in 2004.I am a qualified Person Centred therapist (counsellor). I have a Degree in Nursing ,Counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in CBT. I am an Accredited CBT therapist. I have also trained in Interpersonal Therapy for Depression and am an Accredited IPT Therapist. In addition to this, I have completed my training in EMDR therapy. I am also an Accredited EMDR therapist.
I worked in the NHS as a therapist, working with age ranges 16 and above with varying severities of depression and complexity, as well as working with adults with a range of anxiety disorders, such as generalised anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder, social phobia, general phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder and post traumatic stress. I also work with clients, who have long term health conditions, clients who are experiencing interpersonal difficulties, clients who are currently experiencing difficulties with adjustment to a change in role, general life changes, bereavement or experiencing other types of loss such as an ending of a relationship. I left the NHS in March 2022 to focus solely on private practice
I am also a trained clinical supervisor and provide supervision to other CBT therapists.
I have also completed training with X R Therapeutics to provide exposure therapy to clients using virtual reality treatments to overcome their phobia

Areas of interest

I have a special interest in trauma focused work and hence, I have pursued further training in this area and undertaken training in EMDR . I also have an interest in education and enjoy my clinical supervision role
