About me

Malin is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, accredited EMDR Therapist with EMDR UK and Europe , and an accredited CBT Therapist with the BABCP She has two decades of experience as a practising psychologist and clinical supervisor in the NHS and private practice where she has worked extensively with trauma, depression and anxiety disorders.

She has a background in teaching and worked as a senior lecturer on the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at London Metropolitan University. and was earlier in her career involved in providing group and crisis interventions within community addiction and forensic settings.

Her approach is underpinned by person-centred principles with the therapeutic relationship at heart and she draws upon a range of therapeutic frameworks and evidence-based therapy models. Her practice has an emphasis on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and third wave approaches including Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She uses attachment theory and schema therapy concepts and strategies in her work particularly when it comes to relational issues and longstanding maladaptive patterns in a personal life.

She has a special interest in trauma treatment, Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and the mind-body connection. She works with PTSD, complex and developmental trauma and has undertaken comprehensive training in the treatment of trauma.

Malin uses a collaborative and flexible approach to best suit the needs and goals of the person she works with, providing a safe and confidential space
