About me
Dr Faisal Ali is a multi award-winning Consultant Dermatologist, Mohs Micrographic Surgeon and Laser Surgeon.
He graduated from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, with a Double First in pre-clinical medicine before completing clinical studies at Christ Church, University of Oxford. After junior medical training in London, he undertook dermatology training in Manchester. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in dermatology and is on the GMC Specialist Register.
Dr Ali then completed a highly competitive advanced dermatological surgery fellowship (including Mohs micrographic surgery and laser dermatology) in the world-renowned St Johns Institute of Dermatology based in Guys and St Thomas Hospitals, London, where he continues to practice. He was awarded the British Cosmetic Dermatology fellowship to study skin pigmentation disorders in the National Skin Centre, Singapore.
Dr Ali has diverse research training with a PhD from the University of Cambridge, over 190 academic publications and over 90 presentations at national/international conferences. This includes articles in Nature, Science, BMJ, The Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has been awarded multiple prizes and scholarships throughout his career and was recognised as one of the lead consultants of the prestigious BMJ Dermatology of the Year 2018.
He specialises in treatment of skin cancer (Mohs micrographic surgery), acne, rosacea and disorders of pigmentation.
He is a specialty advisor for the Care Quality Commission and current treasurer of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group.
